The fit guide
Fur Apparel Size & Measurement Guide
Start with a coat or vest you love wearing. A few simple measurements will help you compare its fit with your next fur piece.
01 / Your best starting point
Measure a garment that fits well
Choose a similar coat or vest that fits comfortably over the clothing you plan to wear underneath. Compare like-for-like measurements with the product listing.
Lay it flat. Fasten the front if it has a closure, then smooth gently without stretching. Measure the garment itself, excluding fur that extends beyond its edges.
01Chest width
Measure straight across from one underarm to the other. This is the garment’s flat chest width.
Comparing circumference? Double the flat width only when the listing gives a full chest circumference.
02Shoulder width
Turn the garment over. Measure straight across the back from one shoulder seam to the other.
03Garment length
Measure down the centre back, from the base of the collar or neckline to the bottom hem. Exclude fur extending beyond the hem.
If the product listing uses a different starting point, follow that method for an accurate comparison.
04Sleeve length
Measure from the shoulder seam along the outside of the sleeve to the cuff. Skip this step for sleeveless vests.
A note about fur length
Fur can extend beyond the hem, making a piece look longer than its measured garment length. Check the product listing for how its length is measured.
02 / When you need sizing help
Taking body measurements
Use a flexible tape. Keep it comfortably snug and level, without pulling it tight.
Bust / chest
Measure around the fullest part of your bust or chest, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist
Measure around your natural waistline.
Hips
Measure around the fullest part of your hips if the garment extends over that area.
03 / The details that matter
Before you choose your size
Can I order my usual size?
Your usual size is a starting point. Fit can vary between brands and styles, so compare the measurements on the product page with a similar garment you already wear comfortably.
What if I’m between sizes?
Consider how you like your garments to fit and what you will wear underneath. Contact us with the product name and your measurements so we can help you compare the available sizes.
How do international sizes compare?
International size conversions are a general reference. They do not replace the measurements for an individual style. If your usual size is from another country, tell us the country, size, and your measurements when asking for help.
What if a measurement is missing?
Contact us before ordering and tell us which product and size you are considering. We can help clarify the measurements you need to compare the fit.
We’re here to help
A little help finding your fit.
Send us the product name, your measurements, and whether you prefer a closer or more relaxed fit. Measurements from a favourite coat or vest are helpful, too.
